Firefighters and Baseball

HFD Members, organized by Protection Engine Company No 3 attended the season opener of the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Red Barons at Red Baron Stadium in Scranton Monday Evening April 8, 2002. A total of thirty five members of HFD and nine family members attended the first game of the season. The management of the Barons had arranged this first game to honor firefighters and police officers by admitting members of fire companies in uniform to attend free. Family members and guests paid only $2.00.

A special pre game ceremony on the field involving members of many area fire departments including Alert 2, Engine3, and Texas 4 from Honesdale presented thirty members of FDNY

Barons defeated Buffalo 8 -4 in an exciting game. Below are a number of photos showing the pre-game ceremony and a Bald Eagle which also participated.
