This Clapp & Jones Engines, is presently part of the collection at the American Museum of Firefighting at Hudson NY. Various references differ on the year of manufacture of this engine. The museum lists it as an 1870, while the Clapp & Jones builders records compiled by Harold Walker and Edward Tufts show that engine 83, built for Catskill, NY show it as an 1872. The date not withstanding, this is a beautiful example of an early Clapp & Jones Engine
