One
seldom thinks of a coal bunker as a thing of beauty, but on many
early steam fire engines it was indeed. The bunker on our restored
engine is no exception. During the restoration process we discovered
that the old bunker had at some time been stripped to bare metal
leaving no trace of the original artwork. Fortunately the expertise
of Steve Heaver came to the rescue and an authentic design was
achieved.
